I've been reading author Jane Green's blog lately and am just loving it. Thank you again, Google Reader. I could be their spokesperson; maybe they're hiring, I still need a job! This post had me laughing out loud. I almost never get into politics, but I am finding this year's Presidential race interesting (and more important to me than it has been in the past). Sarah Palin's VP nomination is just a little strange to me and really strikes me because it makes me think that Republicans just think women are stupid sheep that are going to vote for McCain/Palin because Palin is a woman. Really, Jane said (and continues to say) what I was thinking.

That is great! I've been debating an anti Sarah Palin post, but I'm worried the president take away my kids' health insurance. (Not really. I'm just too lazy to write something intelligent.)
My very, VERY Republican friend & I are in the midst of a discussion in which we are respectfully exchanging our ideas about the nomination of Sarah Palin. I wish I hadn't deleted it because we've both made some good points.
My thought is this. I don't EVER tell anyone how to think. Hell, if we can get people to care, that's good enough for me.
However!
The sheep comment Toni makes? I immediately had the same one myself. You know what sickens me though? It might be true. I saw some numbers today that would suggest that she is appealing to some uninformed people solely because she has two X chromosomes. So can we fault McCain for not giving us credit? Nope. We need to look in the mirror and take responsibility to educate ourselves.
I would challenge any angry Clinton supporter to give sound reasons for favoring McCain [PALIN] over Obama. I think it's happening and I just cannot grasp it.
In the interest of full disclosure, I am a self-described liberal & anti-feminist. I know I have a bias.
Sherry - I don't know a ton about politics and debated about posting this, but it's my blog and I can post what I want!
Sarah - I would have loved to read that, I'm totally open to hearing all sides especially if they are from intelligent people who know what they are talking about.
I definitely don't tell people how to think either, I hope that I'm not in this post. I was just saying what I think.
I just saw some statistics on that in the World News last night and was appalled frankly. So, I guess they were right in assuming that women would just vote for a woman because apparently, it's happening. I'm totally with you, it's appalling.
you have a lot of great links on your blog......well done,
Gill from Canada
